The LC Generators
Illustration 1 g02172694
This manual covers the Series LC generators. The LC5000, Series LC6100 and LC7000 generators have the following characteristics:
Single phase or three-phase alternating current
Single bearing
Brushless type
Random wound
Four pole
12 wire generator stator
Main stator is 2/3 pitch
Class H insulation
IP23 housing protects against accidental contact with hazardous parts and the ingress of water projection up to 60 degree spray angle
ISO9001, CE, UL, CSA waveform distortion THD is less than 0.4%
Radio interference - compliance with EN61000-6 telephone interference - TIF is less than 50 and THF is less than 2%Note: Six wire generator stators apply only for certain 600 v generators.Note: Some 600 V generators have six leads. Most LC generators are 12 lead. The field excitation can be selected to be one of the following:
Shunt
Auxiliary winding regulation excitation principle (AREP)
PMG

(1) Coupling disk (2) Shims (3) Flange (4) Fan (5) Air vent screen (6) Main field (rotor) (7) Connection terminals (8) Regulator (9) Rear bracket (10) Exciter stator (11) Bearing (12) Exciter rotor (13) Rotating rectifier (14) Main armature (stator) (15) Main armature (stator) housingThe main armature (stator) housing and the air vent window bracket (5) bolt to the engine flywheel housing. A flexible coupling connects the rotor shaft to the engine flywheel. The rotating main field (6) is attached to the rotor shaft. The Series LC generator is a self-ventilated generator. Air enters the generator through air vents that are located at the rear end of the generator. Air exits the generator through vents that are located at the drive end of the generator. The fan (4) is mounted to the rotor shaft . The bearing (11) supports the rotor shaft near the exciter. The bearing is located in the rear bearing bracket (9) .Identification
The generator has a label that provides identification information. The following label is an example.
