1U-5470 Engine Pressure Group 1 An incorrect engine oil pressure gauge and an incorrect engine oil pressure sensor will provide false indications of low engine oil pressure or high engine oil pressure. Use the 1U-5470 Engine Pressure Group to measure the engine oil pressure. Follow the instructions in Special Instruction, SEHS8907, "Using the 1U-5470 Engine Pressure Group" that is included with the tool.
Work carefully around an engine that is running. Engine parts that are hot, or parts that are moving, can cause personal injury.

(1) Oil gallery plug Measure the engine oil pressure to the camshaft and main bearings on each side of the cylinder block at oil gallery plug (1). With the engine at operating temperature, the correct minimum engine oil pressure at full load rpm is approximately 280 kPa (40 psi). The correct minimum engine oil pressure at low idle rpm is approximately 140 kPa (20 psi).Compare the results to the engine oil pressure that is indicated on the engine oil pressure gauge and on the electronic service tool. If there is a notable difference between the engine oil pressure readings, determine the cause.If the engine oil pressure is too low or too high, determine the cause and correct the condition. If the engine oil pressure gauge or the engine oil pressure sensor is incorrect, replace the suspect component.
