The Connection Points For The CAT Data Link On MUI And PEEC EnginesThere are three serial data links on the MUI and the PEEC engines. Illustration 2 shows the connection points at the GSC on the MUI and the PEEC engines. There are four serial data links on EUI engines. Illustration 1 shows the connection points at the GSC+ on EUI engines. The data links are described in the following paragraphs.ALM Data Output - This serial data link is a single directional link. The GSC+ uses this data link for one-way communication with optional Alarm Modules (ALM) or the optional Customer Interface Module (CIM). The ALM Data Link consists of a single wire that connects the GSC+ (connector contact 35) to an ALM or a CIM. A return connection (battery negative) is required between the GSC+ and the module. See Systems Operation, "Alarm Modules" for more information about the ALM Data Link. Also, see Systems Operation, "Customer Interface Module"for more information on the ALM Data Link.RDM Data Output - This serial data link is single directional. The GSC+ uses this data link for one-way communication with the optional Relay Driver Module ("RDM"). The RDM data link consists of a single wire that connects the GSC+(connector contact 30) to the "RDM". Also, a return connection (battery negative) that is between the GSC+ and the module is required. An RDM is used in conjunction with the optional Customer Communication Module (CCM). For more information, see the topic Systems Operation, "Relay Driver Module (RDM)".CAT Data Link - This serial data link is bidirectional. The data link has two functions. For the MUI and the PEEC engines, this data link is used for two-way communication with the optional Customer Communication Module (CCM). For EUI engines, this data link is used for two-way communication with the engine ECM. A shielded twisted pair cable is used to connect the CAT Data Link to the GSC (connector contact 19 and connector contact 20), to the CCM, or to the engine ECM. For more information, see the Systems Operation, "Customer Communication Module".CCM Data Link - CCM DATA LINK IS USED ONLY FOR THE EUI ENGINES. This serial data link is bidirectional. The GSC uses this data link for two-way communication with the optional Customer Communication Module (CCM). The Data Link uses a shielded twisted pair cable that connects the GSC (connector contact 21 and connector contact 22) to the CCM.
