In order to bring machines, operating in Canada, into compliance with CRN regulations, the steering accumulators must have the CRN stamped onto the accumulator shell. The stamped numbers need to be 5/16" text height with 1/8" max line spacing (see Image 1 for location).
Only the stamps provided to the dealership should be used. Accumulators may only be stamped in the location identified in Image 1. Failure to use the the correct stamp in the identified location could cause the shell of the accumulator to fail.
Each truck identified in the service letter will need to be inspected to determine if the accumulator serial number falls within the ranges listed in the service letter. Only accumulators with a serial number listed in the service letter should be stamped with the corresponding CRN. Not all of the trucks identified in the service letter will have an accumulator which can be stamped.
The appropriate CRN number needs to be determined based on the accumulator part number and accumulator serial number. The serial number is a 10 didgit number created by three sets of numbers (XXXXXX-YY-ZZ). In this service letter, we are only concerned with the first eight digits of the serial number and will only reference the final two sets of numbers (XXXXXX-YY). The appropriate CRN to stamp(CRN R7314.256 or CRN 7869.7C) can be determined below.

Stamping of the accumulator will cause the paint to break away from the shell. It should be touched up with CAT yellow high gloss spray paint (4C-4200 or similar paint).
