Information:

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the brake system.
Escaping fluid under pressure, even a pinhole size leak, can penetrate body tissue, causing serious injury, and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury.Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.

(1) Hydraulic pump (2) Flow compensator valve (3) Pressure compensator valve (4) signal pressure tapSignal pressure tap (4) is located on hydraulic pump (1). Flow compensator valve (2) and pressure compensator valve (3) are also located on hydraulic pump (1). Access is gained from the bottom of the machine or access is gained by removing the floorplate.

(5) System pressure tapThe system pressure tap (5) is located on the block for the pump discharge pressure. Access is gained from the bottom of the machine. The hydraulic oil in the system is SAE 10W. If the oil becomes dirty, component failure could result. Dirty oil can also contribute to overheating.
Start the engine and run the engine at HIGH idle. Engage the boom lock. Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to the operating temperature by stalling the boom DOWN for 60 seconds. Then, actuate all of the cylinders through at least ten full strokes. Do not use FLOAT position of the lift control valve for this procedure.
Lower the work tool on the front of the machine and the stabilizers to the ground. Stop the engine.
Perform the proper Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" for your specific type of machine.
Install one 6V-4143 Coupler to one end of 177-7860 Hose Assembly. Place the second end of the hose assembly into the hydraulic tank through the filler tube. Attach the end of the hose assembly with the coupler to system pressure tap (5). Make sure that all the controls for the hydraulics are in the HOLD position.
Start the engine and run the engine at low idle.Note: Do not operate the hydraulic controls nor the steering controls.Note: Obtain oil sample within 5 minutes of completing Step 1.
Use an appropriate container and draw a 100 mL oil sample from the hose assembly. Use a new sampling bottle. Stop the engine. The contamination level must meet ISO 18/15 or the contamination level must be equal to Table 2 or less than Table 2.
