TractorsDescription of Change: New seals are used in the end pins of the equalizer bar on D9L Tractors. The former seals were subject to early hour failure that would cause the pin and bearing to wear. Also, the former seals would not allow grease to pass through. This permitted the grease seal to be pushed out of the bore in the equalizer bar.
Service of the former seals was three pumps of a hand operated grease gun every 1000 hours. The new seals can be serviced with power lubrication equipment. Lubricate the new seals every 250 hours until grease passes under the dirt seal lip.
Adaptable As: The new 7T6392 Seal is in effect with D9L Tractor (14Y2947) and is a direct replacement for both former 9G7044 and 7K9210 Seals. The former 9G7044 Seal has been canceled. For parts service order the new seal. The new 7T6392 Seals must be installed with the words "This Side Out" toward the outside of the bore in the bar. When a new seal is installed it should be hand-packed with grease at assembly. A new seal may be stiff enough that it will not allow grease to pass through. The seal will become more flexible after usage.
