Use the Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool or the machine monitors to check for active diagnostic codes. If any diagnostic codes are present, refer to the appropriate diagnostic code troubleshooting procedure to correct this problem before continuing.The 336D2 XE uses electronic joysticks to send commands to machine ECM. To function properly, the joysticks must be calibrated. To determine if a joystick is the root cause of the controllability issue in question, use the following test steps:
Run the joystick calibrations.
With the key switch ON, and the engine OFF, use the monitor to view the joystick command. Verify the end stops register -100% and 100% for each function.
