Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the fuel cooler.
Remove the fans.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Disconnect hoses (1), (3), and (6). Remove bolts (2) and (4) and remove pipe and hose assembly (5).

Remove bolts (8). Using a fork lift or other suitable lifting device, remove fork pockets (7). The weight of fork pockets (7) is approximately 63 kg (139 lb) each.

Remove tube joints (11), (13), and (15). Remove bolts (14) and remove tube assembly (12).

Remove tube joint (17). Remove bolts (18) and remove tube assembly (16) with the support attached.

Remove tube joints (20) and (21). Remove elbow assembly (19). Remove bolts (22) and remove tube assembly (23).

Remove tube joints (24), (26), and (28). Remove clamps (27) and remove tube assemblies (25).

Remove vent tube assembly (29). Remove bolts (30) and remove brace assembly (31).

Remove tube joints (34) and (35) and remove tube assemblies (32) and (33). Position the harness assembly aside.

Disconnect harness assemblies (36). Remove elbow assemblies (37), (38), and (40). Remove bolts (41), then bolts (39). Disconnect hose assembly (42) and remove tube assembly (43).

Remove bolts (44) and remove the hoses from the rear of sight glass panel (45).

Open panel doors (47). Remove radiator seals (46). Repeat for both sides of the enclosure.

Remove hose assemblies (49) from the radiator bottom tanks. Reinstall the fork lift pockets. Remove bolts (50). Using a fork lift or other suitable lifting device, remove radiator group (48). The weight of radiator group (48) is approximately 1758 kg (3876 lb). Installation Procedure
Install radiator group (48) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (50) to a torque of 390 10 N m (288 7 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 244 14 N m (180 10 lb ft).
Insert the tube assemblies into elbow assemblies (19), (37), (38), and (40) between a minimum distance of 31 mm (1.22 inch) and a maximum distance of 42 mm (1.65 inch). Tighten elbow assemblies (19), (37), (38), and (40) to a torque of 17 1 N m (150 9lb in).
Inspect the seals of tube joints (24), (26), (28), (34), and (35) and replace as necessary. Insert the tube assemblies into tube joints (24), (26), (28), (34), and (35) between a minimum distance of 25 mm (0.98 inch) and a maximum distance of 27 mm (1.06 inch). Tighten tube joints (24), (26), (28), (34), and (35) to a torque of 26 1
