Remove & Install Rocker Arm Assemblies & Push Rods
Start By:a. remove unit injectors 1. Remove bolt (2).2. Remove head bolt (1).3. Remove rocker arm assembly (3). 4. Remove seal (4). 5. Remove push rods (5).6. Remove valve bridges (6). Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for the remainder of the rocker arm assemblies & push rods. The following steps are for the installation of the rocker arm assemblies & push rods. 7. Lubricate top pad of valve bridges (6) with clean engine oil.8. Install valve bridges (6) on the valve stems as shown. 9. Install push rods (5) in their respective location as shown. 10. Install seal (4). 11. Install rocker arm assembly (3).12. Install head bolt (1). Install bolt (2). Do not tighten bolt (2) at this time.13. Tighten head bolt (1) to a torque of 270 15 N m (200 11 lb ft). Tighten head bolt (1) to a torque of 450 15 N m (330 11 lb ft). Tighten head bolt (1) again to a torque of 450 15 N m (330 11 lb ft). Tighten bolt (2) to standard torque value. Start By:a. remove rocker arm assemblies 1. Remove ring (1), washer (2) and arm assembly (3) from shaft (4). 2. Remove ring (6), washer (7) and arm assembly (5) from shaft (4). 3. If necessary, remove two dowels (9) and shaft (4) from bracket assembly (8). The following steps are for the assembly of the rocker arm assemblies. 4. Install shaft (4) into bracket assembly (8). Install the two dowels if they were removed.5. Lubricate shaft (4) with clean engine oil and install arm assemblies (3) and (5).6. Install washers (2) and (7).7.
