Benching A Machine Target
You must bench the Machine Target if the location of the ATS Instrument was only specified in two dimensions (northing and easting). You may bench the Machine Target if the location of the ATS Instrument was specified in three dimensions, in which case the benched elevation is used to calculate the location of the Machine Target, not the elevation of the ATS Instrument. The Height from field in the ATS dialog displays the origin of the ATS Instrument height. The contents of the Height from field are listed in Table 1. If the Height from field displays "No height" you must bench the Machine Target before the ATS can be used.

Benching     Machine has been benched. Heights are in terms of the benchmark the machine was benched over.    
ATS     Machine has not been benched. Heights are in terms of the height of the ATS Instrument. ATS setup must have station elevation and instrument height entered.    
No Height     Machine has not been benched. No height information entered during ATS setup.    To bench the Machine Target, complete the following steps:
From any guidance screen, press the "Menu" Key (11) .The "Setup Menu - Configuration" Screen appears.
