Start the Engine. The Shift Control Lever will remain in the PARK position.
Observe the duty cycle of the current feedback circuit.Expected Result:The duty cycle of the current feedback circuit is not in the acceptable range of 3 percent to 97 percent.Results:
YES - The duty cycle of the current feedback circuit is not in the acceptable range of 3 percent to 97 percent. The duty cycle is not correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NO - The measured duty cycle is in the acceptable 3 percent to 97 percent range at this time. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE FEEDBACK CIRCUITS FOR SHORT CIRCUITS
Turn the key start switch and the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the EFR, disconnect the 14 contact control circuit harness connector (1) from the EFR connector. Visually check each of the connector contacts for damage or contamination. Verify that the contacts are clean, secured in the connector, and in good condition.
At the Drivetrain ECM, disconnect the J1 and the J2 harness connectors. Visually check each of the connector contacts for damage or contamination. Verify that the contacts are clean, secured in the connector, and in good condition.
Check the current feedback signal circuit for a short to frame ground or to another circuit:
Measure the resistance between the signal circuit at contact J2-35 and frame ground. Measure the resistance between the signal circuit at contact J2-35 and each of the other individual circuits that are used in both of the ECM harness connectors. Each resistance measurement between the signal circuit, frame ground, and each of the other circuits should each be greater than 4000 ohms.
