Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment.To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system.Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on.

Machine Preparation
Move the machine to a smooth, level location, away from other working machines and personnel.
Lower all implements to the ground.
Stop the engine.
Engage the parking brake for the machine.
Place the disconnect switch in the OFF position.Wiring the New 5C-9224 Speedometer Gp
Note: During installation, protect wiring in key locations. Key locations are any area where the wiring could be nicked or cut and come in contact with the chassis. Avoid installation practices where there could be excessive flexing, chafing, or cutting of the wiring.
Cut five 100 mm (3.94 inch) lengths of 6V-4795 Electrical Wire.

Remove spade terminal "200C".
Create a wire chain using two of the 100 mm (3.94 inch) lengths of 6V-4795 Electrical Wire from Step 3.a and three 5P-4571 Blade Terminals. Refer to Illustration 1.Note: Ensure the new wire chain and the existing wire chain are all connected through the new 5P-4571 Blade Terminal at location "200C".

Create another wire chain using the remaining three 100 mm (3.94 inch) lengths of 6V-4795 Electrical Wire from Step 3.a.
Place one 5P-4571 Blade Terminal on one end of each of the three lengths of wire.
Remove spade terminal "128B" and install one 136-4876 Wire Connector in place.
Crimp the open ends of the three wires from Step 3.a into the open end of the 136-4876 Wire Connector.
Remove terminal spades "215B" and "449B" and replace each one with one 5P-4571 Blade Terminal.Note: Take note of which wire had the "215B" and "449B" connectors.

Connect the wires from Step 2 to the back of the 5C-9224 Speedometer Gp. Connect the original "200C" to pin location "3". Connect the remaining two new connections to the lamp grounds. Refer to Illustration 3 for the wire locations.

Connect the wires from Step 3 to the back of the 5C-9224 Speedometer Gp. Connect the original "128B" to pin location "4". Connect the remaining two new connections to the lamp power. Refer to Illustration 4 for wire locations.

Connect the wires from Step 4 as shown in Illustration 5.Note: The call outs in Illustration 5 represent the removed terminal spades from Step 4.
