System Shutdown Procedure
Note: Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Modes of Operation", for a complete description of all System Modes.Note: When the flywheel is spinning, the bus and armature leads are energized.To perform a system shutdown, follow the steps below:

System"bypassed" - "Load not protected" screen
Turn the SIO Cabinet key switch to the "Bypass" position. Refer to Illustration 1.
Confirm that the system is in "Bypass" by observing the System Diagram/Overview screen.

Note: CAUTION: Continuing with this procedure will disconnect the critical load from the output of the UPS.
Disconnect the facility load circuit from the output. Refer to Illustration 2.
Remove facility power from the input. Refer to Illustration 2.
Remove facility power from the Bypass Input. Refer to Illustration 2.
Allow the capacitor banks to purge down for approximately five (5) minutes to dissipate any residual energy in the bus and armature leads.Note: While the flywheel is spinning, the bus and armature leads are energized.
