Generator Set: C18 (S/N: GBM1-UP; MGS1-UP)Introduction
The following procedure is used for installing and aligning the base mounts on C18 Marine Generator Sets.Installation and Alignment Procedure

Install washer (7) on top of the mount, and insert pin (1) into the threaded hole in the mount.Note: Thread between 22 mm (0.9 inch) and 25 mm (1 inch) of the pin into the mount
In order to fix pin (1) into the mount, thread nut (6) onto the pin and turn the nut until the nut touches washer (7). Use an allen wrench in order to hold the pin and tighten nut (6) to a torque of 65 N m (48 lb ft).
Install nut (5) and washer (4) over the pin. Nut (6), the nut (5) and washer (4) are stacked on top of each other at this point. Refer to example (A) in Illustration 1.

Install the mounts under the genset parallel to the suspended machinery. Refer to Illustration 3 for the improper alignment and proper alignment.
Install washer (3) and nut (2) onto pin (1). Hand tighten nut (2) .
Adjust nut (5) in order to provide equal loading on all mounts. Clearance (C) must not be less than 10 mm (0.4 inch). Clearance (C) of all mounts must be within 3 mm (0.120 inch) of the other mounts in order to provide equal loading.Note: Nut (5) must not be adjusted more than 10 mm (0.4 inch) from the neutral position. Nut (5) must be contacting nut (6) in order to be in the neutral position. Refer to Illustration 2. If more adjustment is necessary to level the installation add shim plates under the mounts.
Tighten the upper nut (2) to 90 N m (66 lb ft) as the Generator Set is sitting on the mounts. Make sure that the base of the Generator Set is not sitting at an angle that is more than three degrees from the surface that is used to fasten the mounts.
