Location of Components (1) Steering clutches (2) Transmission hydraulic controls (3) Drive shaft (4) Engine (5) Torque divider (6) Transmission (7) Final drivePower from engine (4) is sent through the engine flywheel and torque divider (5) to the drive shaft (3). The drive shaft drives sun gears and planetary gears in the transmission (6) .Five planetary gear trains with clutches give the machine three speeds in FORWARD or REVERSE. The selection of the desired machine speed is done manually by the operator. The transmission hydraulic controls (2) use hydraulic oil to engage the clutches in the transmission.A pinion gear in the power train transfers power from the transmission to the bevel gears. The power is sent through steering clutches (1) to final drives (7). The sprockets which drive the tracks are on the final drives.The steering clutch and bevel gear case contains the bevel gears, steering clutches, and brakes.The steering clutches control the direction of travel. The brakes stop the machine and the brakes assist the steering clutches.
