Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Isolate the electric power generation set. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Generator Isolating for Maintenance" for the correct procedure.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system to a level below the coolant temperature sensor. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

Disconnect harness assembly (1) and remove coolant temperature sensor (2).
Remove the O-ring seal from the coolant temperature sensor.
If necessary, remove the adapter from the water temperature regulator housing. Remove the O-ring seal from the adapter. Installation Procedure
Install coolant temperature sensor (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten coolant temperature sensor (2) to a torque of 20 5 N m (15 4 lb ft).
