ACTION REQUIRED
Before beginning the following rework, please review the safety actions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
Remove the oil pan and remove the oil pump elbow. Reassemble using the 438-8638 Elbow with 9M-1974 Washer on each attaching bolt. Use new O-ring seal. Tighten each attaching bolt in multiple steps allowing the elbow to fit squarely with the block and pump. Finish by tightening to 28 +/- 7 Nm. Reinstall pan and engine oil. Start engine and verify oil pressure.

The oil pump outlet elbow needs to be replaced on the products listed below. The existing elbow mounting ear can fracture and oil pressure could be lost. You will not be charged for the service performed.
