oversize cast iron seal rings are now available for clutch housings and clutch pistons. With the use of oversize rings, clutch housings and clutch pistons can be salvaged (repaired) if their bores are machined larger. A revision to Guideline For Reusable Parts, "Clutch Housings and Clutch Pistons For Transmissions And Torque Dividers" gives a complete list of all the oversize rings. The form number for the revision is SEBF8006-01 and this is a replacement for the former SEBF8006. The important addition to the revision is part numbers and dimensions for .030" (0.76 mm) larger rings for clutch pistons. Formerly, only .015" (0.38 mm) larger rings were available for the clutch pistons.
Several errors were found in the dimensions shown in the charts in SEBF8006-01. Mark these corrections in your copy.1. For line 7 in the first chart (4M1632 Standard Seal Ring) change 15.410" .005" to 19.017" .002", 391.41 0.13 mm to 483.03 0.05 mm, 15.425" .005" to 19.032" .002" and 391.80 0.13 mm to 483.41 0.05 mm.2. For line 8 in the first chart (4M1633 Standard Seal Ring) change 407.21 .005 mm to 407.21 0.05 mm.3. For line 15 in the first chart (4S6713 Standard Seal Ring) change 11.980" .005" to 13.829" .002", 304.29 0.13 mm to 351.26 0.05 mm, 11.995 .005" to 13.844" .002" and 304.67 0.13 mm to 351.64 0.05 mm.4. For line 6 in the second chart (5M6141 Standard Seal Ring) change 317.98 0.05 mm to 317.93 0.05 mm.
