PELJ1180 ?2010 Caterpillar CAT REMAN ANNOUNCES AN ADVANCED SALVAGE TECHNIQUE WHICH WILL AFFECT THE APPEARANCE OF CERTAIN TURBOCHARGERS
Announcement
Cat Reman announces an advanced salvage technique for turbocharger compressor housings which will affect the appearance of some turbochargers. Cat Reman has developed a process to salvage compressor housings which have grooves in the internal diameter of the outlet in order to return the outlet to original specifications. Due to a machining process, the internal diameter of compressor housing outlets salvaged with the new process will appear shiny when compared to remanufactured compressor housing outlets which did not require the process. Effective immediately, dealers will see turbochargers with both the shiny, machined compressor housings and the non-machined housings seen in the past.
The new salvage process does not affect quality, reliability, durability, fit, or performance.
Effective immediately, Figure 1 and Figure 2 willboth represent acceptable appearance for turbocharger compressor housings.
