Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Control Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

Cut cable strap (2) , cable strap (3), cable strap (5), cable strap (6) and cable strap (7) from wiring harness assembly (8). Note: Note the position of cable straps that attach the wiring harness assembly to the ECM mounting bracket.
Remove diagnostics connector (10) from clamp (9).
Position wiring harness assembly (8) away from ECM mounting bracket (4).
If necessary, remove clamp (10) from ECM mounting bracket (4).
Remove bolts (1) from ECM mounting bracket (4). Support the bracket as the bolts are removed.
Remove ECM bracket (10) from the cylinder block (12). Installation Procedure
Ensure that ECM bracket is clean and free from damage. Replace ECM mounting bracket if the ECM mounting bracket is damaged.

Position ECM mounting bracket (4) onto the cylinder block. Ensure that the bracket is correctly orientated.
Install bolts (1) to ECM mounting bracket (4). Support the bracket as the bolts are installed.
Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in).
Position wiring harness assembly (8) onto ECM mounting bracket (4).
Install new cable strap (2) , cable strap (3), cable strap (5), cable strap (6) and cable strap (7) to wiring harness assembly (8). Note: Ensure that the cable straps meet the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) specifications.
If necessary, install clamp (9) to ECM mounting bracket (4).
Install diagnostics connector (10) to clamp (9). End By:
Install the electronic control module. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electronic Control Module - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
