Location of new bronze thrust washer.Procedure To Install New Bronze Thrust Washers
1. Apply 6V-1541 Quick Cure Primer to all contact surfaces. Make sure the contact areas are clean and dry.2. Apply 4C-9507 Retaining Compound to the differential case halves in eight places where the spherical thrust washers will contact.3. Apply 4C-9507 Retaining Compound to the backside of the four spherical washers.4. Assemble the differential group. Tighten the eight bolts to a torque of 460 70 N m (340 50 lb ft). Then turn an additional 180 5°.5. Apply a 200 kN (45,000 lb) load to both sides of the differential side gears. This will correctly position the spherical thrust washers to the differential case assembly.6. Allow four hours for the 4C-9507 Retaining Compound to cure. Then remove the 200 kN (45,000 lb) load from the differential.
