Component Code: 1374SUBJECT: STIFFENING CHANNELS NEED TO BE ADDED TO THE SIDES OF THE HYDRAULIC OIL COOLERS
PROBLEM: 2-Tier hydraulic oil coolers were used on earlier machines that are listed. The 2-tier hydraulic oil coolers may not have adequate support.
SOLUTION: Stiffening channels need to be welded to the sides of the hydraulic oil coolers that use a 2-tier design. The cooler may use a 2-roll design or a 3-roll design. Determine which design your machine is equipped with.
Fabricate 2 of the following channels if your machine is equipped with a 2-roll cooler. All dimensions shown are in inches. Line (A) is the bend line. Brake up 90 degrees.
Fabricate 2 of the following channels if your machine is equipped with a 3-roll cooler. All dimensions shown are in inches. Line (A) is the bend line. Brake up 90 degrees.
Weld the 2-roll stiffener plate onto the sides of the 2-roll cooler. Weld the 3-roll stiffener plates to the sides of the 3-roll cooler.
Use the six slotted holes (3) for spot welding the stiffener plates (2) to the hydraulic oil cooler, as shown. Weld the top (1) and bottom of the stiffener plates to the cooler as well. Do NOT weld the stiffener plates to the center hydraulic tank (4).
