All G3600The 192-7870 Connecting Rod Bearing is being released as a service replacement option.Caterpillar® recommends that the 192-7870 Connecting Rod Bearing be replaced at Mid Life Overhaul for both gas and diesel products.All production engines will ship with the 227-2902 Connecting Rod Bearing .Testing has proven the 227-2902 Connecting Rod Bearing to be a full life bearing when using the non-shot peened rod.Until further data is collected, Caterpillar recommends inspecting / replacing the 227-2902 Connecting Rod Bearing at Mid Life Overhaul in shot peened rods running 900 rpm and 1000 rpm. Extending to full life using the 227-2902 Connecting Rod Bearing and the shot peened rod will be site-specific based on inspection results at Mid Life Overhaul.
