Start By:a. remove counterweight **This operation is located in the 446 Backhoe Loader Vehicle System Disassembly And Assembly Module, Form No. SENR3978.b. remove front drive shaft 1. Raise the machine and install tooling (A) as shown. Lower the loader arms until the bucket is resting flat on the ground.2. Remove eight nuts (2) and the washers from each front tire and wheel assembly (1), and remove the front tires and wheels. Weight of the tire and wheel is approximately 84 kg (185 lb). 3. Install tooling (B) and a hoist to one side of the front axle group as shown. Install a floor jack under the other side as shown.
To prevent personal injury, move the control levers backward and forward to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Slowly loosen the cap of the hydraulic tank to release any pressure in the tank. Be cautious of hot hydraulic oil when any lines are disconnected in the hydraulic system.
4. Put identification marks on oil lines (4) and disconnect the oil lines from the steering cylinder. Cap or plug all openings as each oil line is disconnected.5. Disconnect two grease lines (3) from axle trunnion rings (6) and (7).6. Remove two bolts (5) and the washers from axle trunnion ring (6), and remove two bolts (8) and the washers from axle trunnion ring (7). Use a floor jack and a hoist as shown, and remove the front axle group from beneath the machine. Weight of the front axle group is 500 kg (1100 lb).
