GAUGE-OIL LEVEL (DIPSTICK) 1545716 - Caterpillar

Lower the ripper to the ground.

Remove bolt (2) and pin (3). Repeat for the other side.
Start the engine and retract ripper cylinders (1) .

Secure ripper cylinders (1) away from ripper (4) .

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to ripper (4) and lift ripper (4) off the ground. The weight of ripper (4) is approximately 590 kg (1300 lb).
Remove nuts (5) from both sides of ripper (4) in order to remove ripper (4) from the machine.

Remove dowels (6) from both sides of the machine, if necessary.Installation Procedure

Install dowels (6) to both sides of the machine.

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to position ripper (4) to the machine. The weight of ripper (4) is approximately 590 kg (1300 lb).
Install nuts (5) in order to attach ripper (4) to the machine.

Position ripper cylinders (1) to ripper (4) .

Start the engine and extend ripper cylinders (1) .
Install pin (3) and bolt (2). Repeat for the other side.
