Cut all cable straps (51) that secure harness assembly (52) for the fire suppression system to the transmission, the torque converter, and the output transfer gears.

Disconnect harness assemblies (53). Disconnect clamp (54) from the machine frame.
Disconnect hose assembly (55).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to transmission (56). The combined weight of the torque converter, transmission (56), and the output transfer gears is approximately 1510 kg (3330 lb).

Attach Tooling (C) to each side of flywheel housing (57).

Remove bolts (58) and the washers.

Remove nut (59), the washers, and the bolt. Repeat this step for the opposite side of the machine.

Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device in order to raise the torque converter, transmission (56), and the output transfer gears approximately 102 mm (4.0 inch).
Run the adjusting screws down on Tooling (C) until the adjusting screws make solid contact with the frame.

Remove bolts (60), the washers, and the bosses except for the five bolts (60), the washers, and the bosses at the bottom.

Lower the transmission, the torque converter, and the output transfer gears slightly. Remove the remaining bolts (60), the washers, and the bosses.

Raise the transmission, the torque converter, and the output transfer gears until support assembly (62) is visible, as shown in Illustration 37. Attach a suitable lifting device to support assembly (62). The weight of support assembly (62) is approximately 55 kg (121 lb). Remove bolts (61), the washers, and the spacers. Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove support assembly (62). Repeat this step for the opposite side of the machine.

Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove the torque converter, transmission (56), and the output transfer gears. Installation Procedure
Install the torque converter, transmission (56), and the output transfer gears in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (61) to a torque of 520 70 N m (384 52 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (D) to the threads of bolt (44).
Tighten bolt (44) to a torque of 475 60 N m (350 44 lb ft).
