Installation Procedure
Bottom Guard and Ladder (574 Forwarder Shown) 1. Park the machine on level ground. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine. The ladder will be lowered when the parking brake is engaged.2. Tilt the engine hood forward.3. Tilt the cab over to the right side of the machine.Reference: For additional information on tilting the cab, refer to Service Manual Module, SEBU7197, Operation and Maintenance Manual, 554 Forwarder and 574 Forwarder; "Cab Tilting".4. Lower the bottom guard to the ground.Reference: For additional information on lowering the bottom guard, refer to Service Manual Module, SEBU7197, Operation and Maintenance Manual, 554 Forwarder and 574 Forwarder; "Bottom Guard Lowering".

554 Forwarder and 574 Forwarder Bottom guard lowering pulleys.5. Replace the bottom guard pulleys. The 554 Forwarder has three bottom guard pulleys. The 574 Forwarder has five bottom guard pulleys. Remove the locknuts from the bolts. Remove the old pulleys and install the new 162-1942 Pulleys. Install the bolts and locknuts.

Remove the locknuts from the bolts. Remove the old pulleys and install the new 162-1942 Pulleys. Install the bolts and locknuts.
