Improper installation of the 6V-9200 Elbow into the implement pump margin control valve may cause fouling of the spool and spring holder. Iron debris from damaged threads may also cause the valve spool to seize, resulting in out-of-tolerance margin pressure. This occurs if the adapter is turned in an extra revolution to attain the proper fitting orientation.Solution
If a machine is found to have incorrect implement pump margin pressure that does not change when an adjustment is made, check the spool for signs of damage from contact with the adapter. If damage or debris is found, replace the pump control valve.Note: The pressure settings will need to be modified on the service replacement controller. Refer to UENR1617 Testing and Adjusting, "Piston Pump (Implement) Margin Pressure Test and Adjust".To ensure proper assembly and installation of the straight thread O-ring (STOR) fitting, and to eliminate damage caused by overtightening, use the following procedure.
Ensure that the backup washer, O-ring, and lock nut is positioned at the top of the O-ring groove.
Hand screw connector into the straight thread O-ring (STOR) port until the metal backup washer contacts the spot face surface.
Rotate adapter body up to 1 turn counterclockwise into alignment. Always make final alignment with a counterclockwise turn of the fitting.
Apply proper assembly torque to the locknut with a torque wrench. Maintain fitting orientation with a backup wrench.
