Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the valve mechanism cover.

This is a view from the rear of the engine.
Disconnect tube assembly (1).

View from the front of the engine
Remove tube assembly (4).
Remove cable straps (3). Disconnect harness assemblies (2) and (5) and position the harness assembly out of the way.
Disconnect three harness assemblies (6) and remove support bracket (7).
Disconnect hose assembly (8) and remove tube assembly (9).

Remove fifteen bolts (10).
Disconnect six harness assemblies (11) and disconnect harness assembly (14).
Disconnect three harness assemblies (13) and disconnect six harness assemblies (12).
Remove the valve mechanism cover base.

Remove bolts (15) and remove harness assembly (16).
Remove seal (17) from valve mechanism cover base (18). Installation Procedure
Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Install the valve mechanism cover base (18) in the reverse order.

Tightening sequence
Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 25 6 N m (18 4 lb ft) in the numerical sequence that is shown in Illustration 5.
