GAUGE AS-OIL LEVEL (DIPSTICK) 3502779 - Caterpillar

Main Relief Valves and Charge Relief Valve Test Ports(1) Charge relief valve (located on backside of pump).(2) Reverse main relief valve test port.(3) Reverse main relief valve.(4) Charge relief valve test port.(5) Forward main relief valve.(6) Forward main relief valve test port (located on under side of pump. Shown in photo is the right propel pump. The left propel pump (mounted behind the right propel pump) is identical except for the pump and test ports orientations. The top test port (number 2 in the photo) on the right propel pump is reverse and the top test port on the left propel pump is forward.
The following tests and adjustments are performed with the machine engine operating. These tests are done away from the operator's station, so two people must be working. One person performs the tests and adjustments, and the other should be at the controls. This will help prevent accidental movement of the machine.
Brakes must remain engaged during testing to prevent the machine from moving.
Control Manifold (Throttle, Brake and Travel/Pave Control Valve)(7) Control manifold.(8) Brake/pave clutch coil.(9) Brake/travel clutch coil. The pave solenoid wires must be disconnected to prevent disengagement of the brakes and movement of the machine during testing.1. Disconnect the brake/pave clutch coil (8) by disconnecting wire 307 bar.2. Assemble gauge listed above with proper fittings from kit.3. Attach gauge to forward main relief valve test port (6).4. Start and run the engine. Warm up the engine and the hydraulic oil to normal operating temperature before conducting the test.5. Pressure setting of the forward relief valve must be checked with the machine in stall condition.
