Later2. Loosen four bolts (4), and turn adjustment rod (3) to remove the tension from the vee belts. Remove the vee belts from the fan drive pulley.3. Fasten a hoist to fan drive (1) as shown. Remove six bolts (2), and remove fan drive (1) from the engine. The weight of fan drive (1) is 52 kg (115 lb.). 4. Remove the bolts, and remove base (5) from the engine.5. Install base (5) on the engine.6. Fasten a hoist to fan drive (1), and put it in position on base (5). Make sure bolt (6) is correctly engaged with the bracket on base (5). Install the bolts to hold the fan drive in position.7. Put the vee belts in position on the pulleys, and make an adjustment of the belt tension. See Install Belt Tightener for this procedure.8. Fill the fan drive with clean grease.Disassemble Fan Drive
START BY:a. remove fan drive 1. Remove bolt (1) from the bracket assembly. 2. Remove the bolts, and remove pulley (2) from the hub. 3. Remove bolts (4), and remove adapter (3) from the hub. Remove the O-ring seal from adapter (3). 4. Remove the bolts, and remove washer (5) from the end of the shaft.5. Remove bearing (6) from the hub and shaft. 6. Remove spacer (7) from the shaft.7. Remove hub (8) from bracket assembly (9). 8. Remove seal (10) from hub (8).9. Remove bearing (11) from hub (8). 10. Remove spacer (13) and the O-ring seal under it from shaft (12). 11. Use a press to remove shaft (12) from bracket assembly (9) as shown.Assemble Fan Drive
1. Put shaft (3) in position in bracket assembly (1). Make sure the grease hole in the shaft is in alignment with the grease fitting on the bracket assembly. Use a press to install shaft (3) in bracket assembly (1).2. Install O-ring seal (4) and spacer (2) over shaft (3). 3. Install bearing (5) in hub (6). 4. Use tool group (A) to install the seal in hub (6). Make sure the lip of the seal is toward the inside of the hub as shown. Put clean grease on the lip of the seal. 5. Install hub (6) over the shaft and on bracket assembly (1).6. Install spacer (7) over the shaft. 7. Install bearing (9) over the shaft and in the hub.8. Put washer (10) in position on the end of the shaft, and install bolt (8) to hold the washer in position. 9. Install the O-ring seal in adapter (11), and put adapter (11) in position on hub (6). Install the bolts to hold adapter (11) in position. 10. Put pulley (12) in position on the hub, and install the bolts to hold it. 11. Install bolt (13) in the bracket assembly.END BY:a. install fan drive
