1. Install the shims and plates (1) in the following step sequence: 1 Make sure the crankshaft is in the most forward postion. Measure dimension (A) from the face of flywheel where the coupling plate fastens to rear face of flywheel housing. 2 Subtract .3195 in. (8.115 mm) from dimension (A). Then subtract the thickness of plates (1).3 Install the number of shims (2) needed to get the measured thickness to the nearest .015 in. (.38 mm). 2. Install a guide bolt (3) in the flywheel for alignment.3. Fasten a hoist to generator. Put generator into position on engine.4. Install bolts and locks that hold fan and plates to flywheel.5. Install bolts that hold generator to flywheel housing.6. Remove blocks or brackets that were used as a support for rear of engine. Remove hoist.7. Install bolts that hold generator to fuel tank. Install cover and screen on generator.
