This procedure is for the proper installation of the 322-8956 Bellows As. The bellows assembly must be aligned properly in order to ensure a long service life.Disassembly

(1) Bellows assembly (2) Mounting hardware
Remove mounting hardware (2) from bellows assembly (1) .
Remove bellows assembly (1) from the exhaust manifold sections.Assembly

(3) Exhaust manifold's mating surface
Clean exhaust manifold's mating surface (3) and replace the 273-7360 Exhaust Manifold Gaskets between the exhaust manifold's mating surface and the bellows assembly.

(4) Inner flanges
Install the new bellows assembly and align inner flanges (4) on the bellows assembly with the bosses on the exhaust manifolds.

(2) Mounting hardware (4) Inner flanges (5) Outer flanges
Align outer flanges (5) so inner flanges (4) sit completely within the recess in the outer flange. Install mounting hardware (2) and hand tighten the mounting hardware.

Proper alignment of the outer flanges to the exhaust manifold's mating surface
Visually inspect each end of the bellows assembly for proper alignment. The bellows assembly must be aligned with the manifold sections. Also, no large gaps must be present. Refer to Illustration 5.
Once the visual inspection is completed mounting hardware (2) can be tightened to the standard torques.
