Remove & Install Oil Filter & Oil Filter Base
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants put into the system may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
1. Use Tool (A) to remove oil filter element (1). 2. Remove two bolts (5). Remove two bolts (6).3. Remove four bolts (1).4. Remove oil filter base (2), tube assemblies (3) and (4) as a unit.5. Remove tube assemblies (3) and (4) from oil filter base (2).6. Remove the two O-ring seals from the top of the oil filter base if necessary.7. Check the condition of the gaskets and O-ring seals. If the gaskets or seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Coat all of the seals with clean engine oil. For installation of the oil filter & oil filter base, reverse the removal steps. Follow the instructions on the oil filter for installation of the oil filter seal and the oil filter.Disassemble & Assemble Oil Filter Base
Start By:a. remove oil filter and oil filter base 1. Remove O-ring seals (1) from oil filter base (2). Remove four bolts and washers (4). Remove cover (3). 2. Remove gasket (7) from cover (3).3. Remove spring (6) and spring (9).4. Remove plunger (5), and plunger (8). Plunger (5) is for the oil filter bypass. Plunger (8) is for the oil cooler bypass. Check the condition of the O-ring seals and gaskets. If the seals or gaskets are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Assemble the oil filter base in the reverse order of disassembly.End By:a. install oil filter and oil filter base
