GAUGE-VALVE GUIDE 9U6401 - Caterpillar

Note the location of plate (29) and remove plate (29) .
Remove piston (30) and piston (31). Remove the O-ring seal from each of the pistons.
Remove bearing cup (33) .
If necessary, remove pin (32) .

Remove gasket (34) from pump (2) .
Remove bolts (35). Remove cover (36) and the O-ring seal.

Remove bearing cone (37) from the shaft.
Remove the plug and O-ring seal (38) .

Remove spacer (39) from the shaft.

Remove barrel assembly (40) from pump (2) .

Personal injury can result from parts under high spring pressure.Spring force can cause parts to come off suddenly. Contact your Caterpillar dealer for disassembly instructions before removing any parts.
Use a press to compress spring (44). Remove snap ring (43) from the groove in barrel (40) .
Slowly release the compression on spring (44) .
Remove guide (42), spring (44), and guide (41) from barrel (40) .Note: Guides (41) and guide (42) are different sizes. This difference should be identified for assembly purposes.

Remove shaft (45) from pump (2) .

Tilt and remove swashplate (46) and pistons (47) as an assembly from pump (2) .

Remove bolts (48). Remove plates (49), plates (50), and pistons (47) from swashplate (51) .
Remove pistons (47) from plate (53) .
If necessary, remove stops (52) from swashplate (47) .

Remove bolts (58). Remove swashplate bearing (55) and bearing (57) .

Use Tooling (B) to remove two lip seals (59) from the housing. Note the direction of the lip seals for assembly.
Use Tooling (A) to remove two snap rings (60) between two lip seals (59) .
