Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
Clean the mating surface of the engine block and the water pump.
Inspect the condition of the O-ring seals.

Install spacer (7) (not shown), water pump (4), and bolts (6). Connect hose assemblies (5) and (8) .

Connect hose assembly (2) to water pump (4). Install belts (3) and bracket (1) .
Adjust the water pump belts. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for the correct procedure.
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Level - Check" for the correct procedure.End By: Install the alternator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install".
