When reporting the repair, use "PS40900"as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered beforefailure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" asthe SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as theWarranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. The information supplied in this serviceletter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. Donot perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the terminationdate without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.TERMINATION DATE

The wall mounted EMCP panel 2008960, which isshipped loose from the factory, may be internally miswired and could causea short circuit. This short circuit will blow the F1 fuse and result infailure to operate after the first cranking cycle. If this problem wasrepaired during commissioning, do not execute this program.AFFECTED PRODUCT

Turn off all supply power, prevent the enginefrom starting and lock out the equipment, before working on or inside theequipment.Only qualified electrical personnel shouldservice this equipment.Replace all devices, doors and covers beforeturning power on to this equipment.Restore all power when complete, or for theunits in storage, restore the required storage conditions.Observe and follow all safety procedures asdescribed in Caterpillar Inc. Manuals.
A miswired panel will have two wires landed onthe terminal R11 on the normally closed block of the ESPB (Emergency StopPush Button), and another two wires on the terminal R12, and no wire onterminals R21 and R22. Refer to the print 2008976, change level 03. Locatethe wire that has one end at RM18, and its other end on the ESPB R11 terminal.Remove this wire from R11 terminal.
Move this wire end to the ESPB R21 terminal. TheR21 and R22 terminals are part of another normally closed block, that hasalready been installed at the factory.
Locate the wire that has one end at terminal 4and the other end on the ESPB R12 terminal. Remove this wire from R12 terminal.
Move this wire end to the ESPB R22 terminal.
