1. With shims (6) and the seal removed.2. Install four bolts (17) in cage (18) 90° apart for each other. Torque bolts (17) evenly to 55 N m (41 lb ft). Rotate shaft (16) three revolutions MINIMUM.3. Torque two bolts (17) evenly to 110 N m (81 lb ft). Rotate shaft (16) three revolutions MINIMUM. Loosen four bolts (17).4. Torque two bolts (17) evenly to 14 N m (10 lb ft). Rotate shaft (16) three revolutions MINIMUM. Torque four bolts (17) evenly to 22 N m (16 lb ft). Rotate shaft (16) three revolutions MINIMUM. Retorque four bolts (17) to 22 N m (16 lb ft).5. Measure the gap between cage (18) and case (24) at each bolt (17) location. Average the two measurements. Shim pack (6) thickness will equal this measurement.
