Information:

1. Drain the oil from the final drive housing.
Typical Example2. Loosen two bolts (4) in each side of the rear track roller. The roller must be lowered about 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to get clearance for removal of the sprocket.3. Remove retainer (2) and shims (1) from sprocket.4. Remove two seals (3) from the retainer.
The sprocket is located on a tapered spline. When the sprocket is removed from the spline, a considerable amount of outward force could be created. Make sure the sprocket is securely fastened to a hoist to prevent injury during the sprocket removal.
5. Fasten a hoist and tooling (A) to the sprocket and remove the sprocket from the output shaft. Weight of the sprocket is 213 kg (470 lb). 6. Remove Duo-Cone seal (5) from the sprocket. 7. Remove the Duo-Cone seal and retainer (6) from the final drive housing. The following steps are for the installation of the sprockets. 8. Put 9S3265 Retaining Compound on the outside diameter of retainer (7). Install the retainer in the final drive housing. 9. Install the Duo-Cone seal in the sprocket and final drive housing with tool (B).
See Assembly And Installation Of Conventional Duo-Cone Seals.
The rubber seals and all surfaces that make contact with the seals must be clean and dry. After installation of the seals, put oil on the contact surfaces of the metal seals. 10. Apply 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the sprocket shaft and the sprocket spline bore.11. Fasten a hoist to the sprocket. Put sprocket on the end of the shaft. Install tooling (C) and push the sprocket on the shaft with a pressure of 550 to 590 kN (61.6 to 66.0 tons). 12. Measure the distance from the face of the sprocket to the end of the end of the shaft in three places with tool (D). The distance must be 2.7 1.9 mm (.11 .07 in).13. Install two seals (3) in retainer (2).14. Install retainer (2) and shims (1) on the sprocket. The thickness of shims is equal to the average distance measured in Step 12 minus 0.05 mm (.002 in).15. Install the bolt that holds the retainer in place. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 2440 270 N m (1810 200 lb ft).16. Tighten the bolts in each side of the rear track roller to a torque of 1125 100 N m (820 75 lb ft).17. Fill the final drive with oil the correct level.End By:a. connection of tracks
