The charge oil for the propel system is supplied by the charge pump (3).

The charge oil flows through the fan motor and the steering system before passing through the charge filter (6).

The oil from the charge filter flows to the following components: brake interlock valves (13), shift valve (10) and the propel pumps (5).The flow from the propel pumps is controlled by the propel control lever on the operator console (4).The brake interlock valves (13) do not allow pressure to build up in the servo valves of the pumps when the parking brake is applied. When the parking brake is released, the brake interlock valves allow differential pressure in the servos of the pump which allows the pumps to flow when the propel lever is moved.Oil flows from the propel pumps to the axle propel motor (7) and flows to the drum propel motor (8).

(7) Axle propel motor.
The axle propel motor (7) is bolted to the wheel drive gearbox. The wheel drive gearbox is bolted to the rear axle. The axle propel motor receives oil from the axle propel pump. Power is transmitted from the motor to the rear axle.

(8) Drum propel motor. (9) Final drive for the drum.
The drum propel motor (8) is bolted to final drive (9) for the drum. The drum propel motor receives oil from the drum propel pump. Power is transmitted from the motor through the final drive to the front drum.

(11) Return manifold. (12) Thermal bypass valve. (14) Scheduled oil sampling test port.
The thermal bypass valve (12) is located in the return manifold (11). The thermal bypass valve directs hot case drain oil from the propel motors to the oil cooler (1).The return manifold (11) is located on the inside of the frame on the left side of the machine. The return manifold also has a scheduled oil sampling test port (14) for the propel hydraulic system.
