Remove the crankshaft front seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Install Tooling (A) in the crankshaft.
Attach a suitable lifting device to crankshaft front gear (1). The weight of crankshaft front gear (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Slide crankshaft front gear (1) onto Tooling (A). Remove crankshaft front gear (1).
Remove the O-ring seals from each side of crankshaft front gear (1). Discard the O-ring seals. Installation Procedure

Install Tooling (A) in the crankshaft.
Lubricate the bores of the new O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Install the O-ring seals in crankshaft front gear (1). Apply Tooling (B) to the bore of the crankshaft front gear. Attach a suitable lifting device to crankshaft front gear (1). The weight of crankshaft front gear (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Note: If holes (2) in the crankshaft will not align with the holes in the crankshaft front gear, the wrong side of the crankshaft front gear is toward the crankshaft.
Align holes (2) in the crankshaft with the holes in the crankshaft front gear. Install crankshaft front gear (1) on Tooling (A).
Slide crankshaft front gear (1) against the crankshaft. End By:
Install the crankshaft front seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal - Install".
