Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Raise the hood.

Disconnect harness assemblies (1) , (2) , and (4) . Disconnect hose assemblies (5) , (6) , and (7) . Remove bolts (3) and filter base (8) . Remove check valve (9) and relief valve (10) after filter base (8) has been removed.

Remove O-ring seals (12) and (11) from relief valve (10) .

Remove O-ring seal (13) , O-ring seal (14) and backup ring (15) from check valve (9) .Installation Procedure

Install O-ring seal (13) , O-ring seal (14) and backup ring (15) onto check valve (9) .

Install O-ring seals (12) and (11) onto relief valve (10) .

Install relief valve (10) and check valve (9) . Install filter base (8) and bolts (3) . Connect hose assemblies (5) , (6) , and (7) . Connect harness assemblies (1) , (2) , and (4) .
Prime the fuel system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime".
