1. Remove the two 7C-1377 Clamps (B) and remove the flexible portion of the pipe.2. Remove the 8N-4045 Coupling (E) adjacent to the muffler and install a new coupling. Lightly tighten the 8N-4045 Coupling. Be sure that the pipe (D) will still rotate.3. Place a new 7C-1377 Clamp (B) over the lower assembly (A) and insert a 260 mm (10.24 in) piece of 5P-2136 Flexible Metal Hose (C).4. Place the remaining new 7C-1377 Clamp (B) over the upper end of the flexible hose. Rotate the upper pipe assembly (D) until the new flexible hose slides up the pipe assembly (D) with minimum interference.5. Tighten the new 8N-4045 Coupling (E) to secure the upper pipe assembly (D) to the muffler using 25 7 N m (18.5 5.2 lb ft). Be sure that the flexible hose is still free to slide back and forth.6. Slide the flexible hose with the 7C-1377 Clamp Assembly as far up the upper pipe assembly as possible. Mark the location of the upper end of the 7C-1377 Clamp Assembly on the pipe assembly. Slide the flexible hose with the 7C-1377 Clamp Assembly down as far as possible. Mark the location of the upper end of the 7C-1377 Clamp Assembly on the pipe assembly.7. Measure the distance between the upper mark and the lower mark. Divide the distance in half.8. Slide the flexible hose with the 7C-1377 Clamp Assembly so that the upper edge of the clamp is at the midpoint between the upper mark and the lower mark.9. Starting on the hose-end portion of each clamp, tighten both 7C-1377 Clamps by alternately tightening each nut to a torque of 85 15 N m (74 11 lb ft).
