Preparation
Make the following preparations prior to disassembly.1. Workbench The workbench must have solid structure and enough space to hold parts during work.2. Tools and supplies Prepare the supplies and special tools shown in the previous section.General Precautions
1. Use care in handling precision parts during work to avoid damage caused by striking other parts or from being dropped.2. Never strike or prize parts forcibly when they held fast, to prevent damage, burring, oil leakage or deteriorated performance. Use care and patience.3. Protect parts from corrosion and dust when disassembly is interrupted for some time. Parts rust easily due to moisture or dust when left disassembled.Disassembly Procedure
1. Clean the track roller with kerosene. 2. Remove tapered plug (9) from shaft (6), and drain engine oil from the track roller. 3. Remove snapring (1) from shaft (6) while pressing collar (2) with a press. 4. Remove collar (2) from roller (8), and remove floating seal (3) from collar (2). Do not reuse floating seal (3) whose sliding surface is rusted. 5. Pull shaft (6) out of roller (8), and remove snapring (1) from shaft (6).6. Remove O-ring (5) from shaft (6). 7. Remove collar (2) from roller (8), and remove floating seal (3) from collar (2). 8. Remove floating seal (3) from roller (8) using a spatula. Do not reuse floating seal (3) whose sliding surface is rusted. 9. Pull bushing (4) out of roller (8). Do not reuse bushing (4). Cleaning of partsRough cleaning1. Place parts in a rough cleaning vessel containing kerosene. Immediate cleaning of parts in oil with dirts attached will easily cause scratches. Soak them in the oil until dirt and grease become loose and float. Finish cleaning1. Place all parts in a finish cleaning vessel containing kerosene and clean both inside and outside thoroughly while slowly rotating.2. Wipe off kerosene from parts with clean waste cloth. Dry the inside of roller (8) and shaft (6) using compressed air in a place free from dust and moisture. After drying, apply a coat of hydraulic oil to all parts.
