Preparation
Make the following preparations prior to disassembly.1. Workbench The workbench must have solid structure and enough space to securely hold parts during work.2. Supplies and sealant Prepare supplies and sealant.General Precautions
1. Use care in handling precision parts during work to avoid damage caused by striking other parts or by being dropped.2. Never strike or prize parts forcibly when they are held fast, so as to prevent damage, burring, oil leakage or lowered performance. Use care and patience.3. Protect parts from corrosion and dust when disassembly is interrupted for some time. Parts rust easily due to moisture or dust when left disassembled.Disassembly Procedure
1. Place the rotary joint in a press.2. Loosen bolts (1), then remove bolts (1), spring washer (2) and cover (3) from outside body (7). 3. Remove gasket (8) from outside body (7). Do not reuse gasket (8). 4. Loosen bolts (4), then remove bolts (4), spring washers (5) and cap (6) from inside body (11). 5. Pull out inside body (11) from outside body (7) with a press.
Axially align inside body (11) and a press with each other to do this work to prevent inside body (11) and outside body (7) from being damaged.
6. Remove backup ring (9) from inside body (11) with a spatula. Do not reuse backup rings (9). 7. Remove O-ring (10) from inside body (11) using a spatula and a inserter B. To remove O-ring (10), start from the top of inside body (11) downward. Do not reuse O-ring (10). Cleaning of partsRough cleaning1. Place parts in a rough cleaning vessel containing kerosene. Immediate cleaning of parts in oil with dirts attached will easily cause scratches. Soak them in the oil until dirt and grease become loose and float. Finish cleaning1. Place all parts in a finish cleaning vessel containing kerosene and clean both inside and outside thoroughly while slowly rotating.2. Wipe off kerosene from parts with clean waste cloth. Dry the inside of outside body (7) and inside body (11) using compressed air in a place free from dust and moisture. After drying, apply a coat of hydraulic oil to all parts.
