1. Remove the pressure from the brake system by making several brake applications with the foot brakes until brake pressure gauge shows zero pressure.
Do not try to loosen or remove brake oil pressure sensing line (1) until brake oil pressure is zero.
2. Remove the oil pressure sensing line (1).3. Make the wiring harness (2) separate from the brake pressure switch (3). Remove switch (3). 4. Remove the floor plate above the emergency and parking brake assembly. Fasten a hoist and strap to the assembly.5. Remove the mounting bolts (5) for the brake housing assembly.
Do not remove the plate retaining bolts (4) until housing assembly has been removed from transfer drive housing.
6. Remove the emergency and parking brake assembly out the bottom of machine. Weight of brake assembly is 115 lb. (52 kg).
Be careful when making a separation between the emergency and parking brake assembly and the transfer drive housing to prevent the brake discs and plates from falling off the brake hub.
7. Remove the four brake discs and three plates from the hub.8. Remove the six plate fastening bolts (4).9. Remove plate (6) from brake housing assembly (7).10. Lift the housing assembly (7) off the plate and springs. 11. Install a 3/8"-16NC forged eyebolt, and remove the three pistons (8) and springs from the brake housing assembly.12. Remove the three O-ring seals (9) from the housing assembly.Install Emergency And Parking Brake Assembly
1. Put a multipurpose type lubricant on the three O-ring seals. Install the O-ring seals in the brake housing assembly.2. Install the springs and pistons in housing assembly.3. Put the spacers and springs into position on the plate.4. Put the brake housing assembly on the springs and plate. 5. Put plate (1) on housing with holes (2) in the plate between the pistons (3). Install the plate fastening bolts.6. Install the four brake discs and three plates on the hub starting with a disc. Put the notches in plates in alignment with fastening bolts holes for brake assembly in the bearing cage.7. Fasten a hoist and strap to the emergency and parking brake housing. Lift the housing into position on the transfer drive housing.8. Install the fastening bolts for the brake housing. Tighten the bolts to 100 10 lb.ft. (13,8 1,4 mkg).9. Install the brake pressure switch.10. Make a connection between the wiring harness and the brake pressure switch.11. Install the sensing line for brake oil pressure.12. Install the floor plate. 13. Start the diesel engine. Remove the air from the emergency and parking brake by loosening the valve screw (4). Remove Emergency And Parking Brake Control Valve
