(22) Hose from the sump to the transmission oil pump. (8) Transmission oil pump.The bottom of the output transfer gear case contains oil sump (19) . Torque converter (6) has a separate oil sump. Transmission oil pump (8) is a two-section gear type pump. Transmission oil pump (8) supplies oil to the transmission hydraulic system. One section of transmission oil pump (8) pulls oil from oil sump (19) . The transmission oil pump (8) has a scavenge section that pulls oil (26) from the torque converter oil sump (27) . The oil then returns to oil sump (19) . The oil from oil sump (19) flows through the suction screen and magnet (18) . Oil is supplied to the pump inlet through hose (22) . Pressurized oil exits the pump outlet and flows to transmission oil filter (1) . Pressurized oil flows from transmission oil filter (1) through an external hose to the torque converter priority valve (4) . The oil then flows through torque converter priority valve (4) . The oil flows to modulating valves for the impeller clutch (9) and lockup clutch (7) . The oil also exits torque converter priority valve (4) at another port which supplies oil to modulating valves for the transmission clutches (11-16) .
