Use Tooling (E) in order to clean the shaft assembly and the counterbore in the housing.

Use Tooling (D) in order to install lip seal (15) . Install lip seal (15) with the part number toward the housing. Ensure that the lip seal is flush with the housing. Do not lubricate the lip seal.

Raise the temperature of the bearings.
Install bearing (11) , bearing (13) , and spacer (12) onto shaft (10) .
Install shaft (10) in the housing.

Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining ring (7) .
Install key (8) .

Align the slot in gear (4) with the key on the shaft. Install gear (4) , lock (6) , and nut (5) . Ensure that lock (6) correctly secures nut (5) .

Use a suitable press in order to seat shaft (10) against the retaining ring.

Use a suitable press and Tooling (C) in order to install seal (14) . Install seal (14) with the part number upward. Ensure that seal (14) is flush with the housing. Do not lubricate the seal.

Note: Support the shaft assembly during installation of the impeller. Do not support the water pump by the housing.
Use a suitable press in order to install impeller (9) . Ensure that impeller (9) is flush with the top of shaft assembly.

Install a new O-ring seal (3) .

Install cover (2) and bolts (1) .
Install a new filter in the weep hole that is flush with the housing.End By: Install the water pump.
