When testing and adjusting the transmission and power train, move the machine to an area clear of obstructions, with safe exhaust ventilation for the exhausts. Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, do the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the transmission and power train.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The following procedure is used in order to test the operation of the differential lock.Required Tools

Operate the machine until the transmission oil at the sump is at operating temperature of 76° 7°C (169° 13°F). Operate the machine until the hydraulic oil is at operating temperature of 62° 8°C (144° 14°F).
Locate the machine on a hard level surface. Engage the parking brake. Shut off the engine.

Remove the dust cap. Attach Tooling (A) to the test port. Test port (13) is for the front axle. Test port (14) is for the rear axle.Note: Rear differential lock is an attachment.Test Procedure
Start the engine and run the engine at low idle.
Place transmission in second neutral.
Depress the differential lock floor switch located in the cab. Hold switch for 5 seconds. Release differential lock floor switch for 5 seconds. Repeat step 3 four more times.
Measure pressure at low idle. Transmission in second neutral and differential lock floor switch depressed in cab. No steering or implement commands allowed during test. Ensure that the pressure for each axle is within the limits listed in Table 1.
The gauge should read 3100 300 kPa (450 45 psi).
If the differential lock valve appears to be working properly, the differential lock clutch may
