8 4 178-2991 Self-Locking Bolt Use the following procedure in order to tighten the bolts:
1. Tighten to 230 40 N m (170 30 lb ft).
2. Turn to an additional angle of 120 10 degrees.
9 1 5V-5669 Shim Pack 1. Assemble cover (14) and pin (15) without shim pack (9).
2. Tighten bolts (13) lightly to remove end play.
3. Measure maximum gap between cover and axle housing surface.
4. Select and install shim thickness to provide −0.03 mm (−0.001 inch) (preload) to 0.03 mm (0.001 inch) (end play) in pin.
10 16 160-8510 Self-Locking Bolt Use the following procedure in order to tighten the bolts:
1. Tighten to 230 40 N m (170 30 lb ft).
2. Turn to an additional angle of 120 10 degrees.
11 1 173-0562 Drain Assembly Use the following procedure to tighten the drain assembly:
1. Tighten the drain assembly to 160 15 N m (118 11 lb ft).
2. Tighten the plug to 80 7 N m (59 5 lb ft).
3. A pipe with a diameter of 25.4 mm (1.00 inch) is needed to activate the valve for draining oil.
